NEW SCREENING PROGRAM CONTINUES with a SECOND SCREENING SCHEDULED for 4 DEC. 2026.

OUR FIRST film presentation of our 2026 screening series took place on April 11, 2026 at an organization called 2727 located in Berkeley, at 2727 California Street.   We screened 45 minutes of film from our three film-making directors and there was a Q&A afterwards.  In spite of the inclement weather, which cut into audience size, we had a pretty good turnout.

The filmmakers were:  David Flores, Kevan Jenson and Eve A. Ma.

This event, as usual, was free and open to the public.  

Our next screening is scheduled for 4 December 2026, also in 2727 in Berkeley. 

MEDIA MAKERS SCREENING SERIES

Curated by Bianca Beyrouti and the MAW board, this was our first real program.  We held it in Kensington, CA., in a coffee house.   Unnfortunately, details from this series have gotten lost;  pity, because the films were good.

PRODUCERS/ ROUNDTABLE  DISCUSSION

Held at BCM (Berkeley Community Media) in Berkeley, it featured Richard R. Lee (producer of Sidewalks Entertainment and program director at KRCT TV):  David L. Brown (independent filmmaker whose films include Of Wind and Waves about a surfing legend, and Keeper of the Beat about a woman percussionist), and Katie Ravnik (former filmmaker, creator and director of a film tech list serve organization). 

FILM PRODUCTION

The board had a blast making a film for the annual 48-hour challenge of BCM (Berkeley Community Media).  Called Leave No Trace-deux, board member Vivian Pisano wrote the script and board members Eve A. Ma and Hershell West were the producer-directors.  Victoria Lee Williams played the lead actress, Marilyn McClain composed the music, and Eve A. Ma did the editing.
